The ancient Egyptians recognised the reality of evil in many different forms. One of those is the inhabiting of a space by any sort of entity or spirit or what today we might call ‘energy,’ that is negative, disruptive, or disturbing. The cleansing of space whether it is a room, a home, or a building can remove that negative force. There are a number of methods for dispelling these negative forms. The following spell is based on classic ancient Egyptian magic wherein the person reciting the spell speaks as a god, not as his or her human identity. The wording of the spell ‘announces’ that in point of fact the evil force is expelled and banished.
The best time for performing this spell is in the very early morning, as close to sunrise as possible. This reflects ancient practice.

The priest-magicians of ancient Egypt used the magical technique of ‘naming’ various types of illness and unhealthy situations afflicting people, identifying them with one or another form of evil or evil entity. In addition, an assortment of herbs, plants and oils had a place in the magician-priest’s armamentarium. Today we may not have access to the specific plants that were used in ancient Egypt. However, since ours in a living religion, we can use what is available locally and is known for the desired properties.
